The 20-hectare park around the historic castle complex from the 12th century with dense forests, lush meadows and diverse enclosures for birds of prey, wolves and other animals.

Embedded in the forest and mountain landscape of the Eifel, you can experience the animals up close all year round! From small inhabitants, such as cute coatis, to "wild" big cats, to the big stag, visitors can observe animals at eye level. Around 60 animal species in the northern hemisphere and Australia, i.e. a total of approx. 400 animals, live on 30 hectares in the Eifel Zoo.

High above the Oleftal dam, you’ll find the Hellenthal bird of prey station & wildlife open-air enclosure. Numerous local wildlife species appear at all times of year in their natural surroundings and beauty.

Directly below the hiking trail along the Schleebachgraben, near the "Im Todt" parking lot, lies the community's wild boar park, which covers around 5 hectares. A refuge and numerous benches invite you to meet the black smocks in a wonderful location.

There is a car trail through the park, which is about 8 km long. The animals can move about freely in the large grounds, and thanks to the platforms provided, where there is an opportunity to exit from the car, they are familiar with having contact with visitors.

Located in Schmidt near Nideggen, right next to the Eifel National Park, the wildlife park is home to native wild animals, tame domestic and farm animal species and a naturally preserved plant world. A journey through more than 600 million years of the earth's history: the large theme and adventure park illustrates the development of life on earth with over 170 life-size reconstructions of extinct species.
