Its distinctive feature is an imposing double residential tower, which makes the 12th-century castle complex a landmark of the Gerolstein region visible from afar. The well-preserved ruins not only set the hearts of medieval fans of all ages racing, but they also harbor a wildly exciting secret. It is home to the Kasselburg Eagle and Wolf Park, featuring many majestic birds of prey that showcase their aerial acrobatics in flight shows, as well as Western Europe’s largest semi-wild wolf pack, living on ten hectares of forest and rocky terrain.

During the daily feeding , visitors can get up close to these impressive animals and learn fascinating facts about their way of life from knowledgeable guides. Wild boars, sheep, and goats are also a big hit, especially with children.

The park is open year-round and offers seasonal events such as medieval tournaments, a Christmas market, “Wolf Nights,” and falconry days. With a restaurant, playground, petting zoo, and partially accessible paths, the park is family-friendly.
