The open-plan kitchen offers plenty of space for cooking together, while the cosy living area with wood-burning stove invites you to spend relaxing hours. The light-flooded winter garden with a spacious dining area and views of the countryside creates the perfect setting for sociability. Upstairs you will find a bedroom with double bed (1.60m) that can be darkened, a small bathroom and a spacious, open-plan sleeping area (double bed 2 m) with a gallery and sofa bed (1.40 m), which is perfect for relaxing hours of reading or as an additional sleeping area. Nestled between the Moselle and Eifel, the "Glücksnest" is the ideal starting point for numerous discovery tours. Visit the historic city of Trier, the oldest city in Germany, with its impressive remains from the Roman past, such as the Porta Nigra, the basilica and the medieval cathedral. Along the Moselle, picturesque wine villages such as Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trabach beckon, and neighbouring Luxembourg is also worth a visit. The small village of Hetzerath has a train station, bus stop, bakery, butcher's shop, supermarket, pub with beer garden and an ice cream parlor. The surrounding area offers a wide range of leisure activities: Hiking on picturesque Eifel, Moselle or Hunsrück trails, cycling for all abilities, swimming in the outdoor pool or the natural swimming pools of the Eifelmaare. Take a vacation within historic walls! Our vacation apartments are located in the over 250-year-old manor house of Vlatten Castle, in the middle of a beautiful park with old trees, medieval ruins and many enchanted corners.The history of the castle can be traced back to the Middle Ages. Initially, there were two castles in Vlatten: the upper castle and the lower castle. While the lower castle has disappeared today, the upper castle has survived over the centuries. The ruins from the 14th century, especially the impressive round tower, are now part of the picturesque park. In the 19th century, the castle was converted into a representative manor house; later, the residential building and the farmyard were separated by a wall. The two-winged residential building was given a historicizing tower on the east side in 1908.The castle changed hands several times over the centuries until it was finally bought at auction by the industrialist Julius Rüttgers from Berlin in 1882. He gave the castle to his daughter Emilie, wife of Major General Ernst Freiherr von Gagern, in 1883. The von Gagern family still live in the castle today. One well-known member of the noble family was Heinrich Freiherr von Gagern, president of the first German National Assembly in 1848, although he died three years before the castle came into the family's possession.Our vacation apartments are stylishly and comfortably furnished and ensure a pleasant indoor climate thanks to healthy building materials such as clay plaster and wood.

These are equipped with a lot of comfort, coziness and a pleasant ambience. The bathrooms are a real eye-catcher. You can relax comfortably in the large living room. The bedroom is spacious. A second bedroom is located in the passageway to the bathroom, but can be shielded from view with a screen. There is an additional sofa bed for 2 people in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances. Induction hob, oven, fridge and freezer compartment. The bathroom has a very shallow shower with anti-slip protection and folding seat. Shower enclosure in real glass. The vanity unit consists of an 80 cm washbasin, spacious bathroom furniture and mirror cabinet. A heated towel rail adds to the comfort. Towels and bed linen are provided.
