You start your cycle tour in Daun. The first highlight along the way is the Gemündener Maar, which awaits you after just a few kilometers with its impressive beauty. Surrounded by slopes with dense beech forest, the atmosphere at Gemündener Maar is almost magical. Cycle through the valleys of the Lieser and Winkelbach rivers to the Eifel village of Trittscheid. The Lieser then becomes your lively companion and accompanies you through its unspoilt valley to the Holzmaar. Pure Eifel nature awaits you on this section of the route! From Holzmaar, you cycle to Strohn and through Strohner Schweiz, where the volcanic Eifel fully reveals its original, powerful beauty. Treat yourself to a coffee in the Strohn Volcano House café and immerse yourself in the world of volcanism on a tour of the museum before cycling on to Gillenfeld. You cycle back to Daun along paved sections of the Maare-Moselle cycle path and through beautiful countryside.
