Burgenklettersteig Manderscheid - Etappe 2 "Oberburg" (inkl. Zuweg/Abstieg)

Stage 2: Oberburg The shortest stage is also well suited as a taster tour. An old rocky path with a short climbing section takes you up to the Oberburg.

From the Oberburg, the view opens up across the Liesertal and over to the royal stage around the Niederburg.
After the rocky ascent, where you climb about 30 m more or less vertically upwards, a highlight of the Burgenklettersteig awaits you: you are standing right at the foot of the imposing Oberburg.
The perfect place to take a break and let your gaze wander into the distance.

Total distance: approx. 1.3 km, including 0.5 km ascent, a total of 0.3 km secured by ropes, 0.5 km descent (return to the starting point)
Walking time: 1 hour plus breaks, depending on experience and fitness.
Requirements: sure-footedness, no fear of heights, good physical condition, sturdy footwear, arm height approx. 1.60 m (height min. 1.40 m)
Difficulty level: A/B, one rock ascent of approx. 30 m height up to difficulty level C
