BORDERS.LOS

Cycle through 4 countries - from the Netherlands via Germany and Belgium to Luxembourg right across the Eifel. The borders on this cycle tour are fluid: a united Europe is lived here, the people are open and at the same time deeply rooted in their region. Cyclists immerse themselves in the heart of this border region over around 340 kilometers.

The cycle tour starts in Roermond in the Netherlands. A city rich in cultural history, with charming stores and an extensive lake landscape that invites you to take a stroll. Against the flow of the Rur, the route continues through the Jülich Börde to the remains of the Inden open-cast lignite mine near Schopenhoven. Here, the face of the landscape has been impressively altered.

Nature also has a lot to tell here: The Eifel National Park , for example, where nature can develop freely, the Obermaubach reservoir and the Rursee lake, where the water glistens in the sunshine and thoughts can flow freely during a break.Connections between countries become apparent on the tour, such as between the disused railroad lines from Monschau to St. Vith in Belgium and as far as Prüm. In the Prümtal valley near Holsthum, some people may rub their eyes: hops grow up here - a great motif for unusual vacation pictures.
The freedom on the bike is boundless and the destination of Luxembourg is almost reached. Every kilometer brings cyclists a little closer to the Eifel. The people here don't care which side of the border you come from. There is a bond of friendship and a shared appreciation of life.
