Schiefergrubenwanderweg
Beschreibung
The slate quarry hiking trail, a hiking highlight on the famous "Moselle Slate Route".
The impressive Kaulenbach valley lies between the Eifel villages of Müllenbach, Laubach and Leienkaul. From 1695 to 1959, the best quality roofing slate in the slate mountains on the left bank of the Rhine was mined here. Before starting the hike along a scenically unique route, past old mine entrances, building remains and unique flora and fauna, you have the opportunity to visit a small, permanent exhibition and documentation on the subject of slate mining in the Schieferlandhalle Müllenbach.
