The entire senior park is a meeting place. This is particularly conveyed by our café-restaurant “Vier Jahreszeiten”. This circular route leads through the mystical Bollendorf rock forest, past the absolute highlight of the route, the "Grüne Hölle" (Green Hell), as well as many other curious rock formations.

Enjoy the fascinating view from the Eifel view on the Calvary and discover the XXL bench along the way, which is a popular photo spot!

Ascent to the Steffelberg with a fantastic panoramic view of Steffeln and the West Sifel volcanic mountains. On the Killenberg, you can gain an insight into a Roman-medieval quarry.

About 150 years ago in the " Ettringer Lay " ( Lay= stone quarry ) the deepest stone beeches around the Bellerberg volcano were formed. Not without danger the mighty stone columns of its western lava flow were broken here in order to extract building material or paving stones from it . Today a signposted trail lead direct to the lava flow.

Until a few decades ago, slate mining shaped large parts of our region as far as the Moselle. The population in Kehrig also lived partly from work in the slate pits.

The start and end point of the circular walk is Weilerbach Castle with its beautiful garden.
