From Teufelsloch to Weilerbach Castle: a fantastic hiking route full of natural beauty and outstanding cultural monuments!
There are countless natural beauties and historical cultural monuments worth seeing around Bollendorf, and this hiking route brings together many of them. The starting point of Weilerbach Castle, once the residence of the last abbot of Echternach Abbey, is well worth a visit with its large gardens and the site of the former ironworks. From there, the trail leads right into the rocky landscape, which is particularly impressive in the Teufelsloch. Hidden in the forest are Roman relics such as the Diana monument and the burial site known as the "Kiesgräber". No one knows when the mighty ramparts of the Niederburg castle date back to, from where the route leads back to the starting point of the hike in Weilerbach.
