One step - and you are standing between centuries. In the Eifel, castles and palaces bear witness to a rich, eventful past. If you set off on one of the hiking routes, you will not only hike through varied landscapes, but also through time.
The trails lead you through sparse forests, along old trade routes and along hidden paths to places where noblemen resided, knights fought and legends were born. Sometimes hidden on a rocky spur, sometimes openly enthroned above the valley - each castle has its own history for you to discover. Bürresheim Castle, Eltz Castle and the castles of Manderscheid or Pyrmont Castle... they all appear as remote as they were centuries ago.
