Meiserich is a district of Ulmen and can be reached in a few minutes by car or on foot.

Our house is located in the Eifel village of Herhahn, to the west between Schleiden and Gemünd, and borders directly on the Eifel National Park. In the village itself you will find our house near the church and bus stop. Thanks to its direct location to the Rur and Urft lake district, countless excursion destinations are within easy reach: the Rur dam, the town of Monschau, the town of Nideggen, the town of Aachen and the LVR open-air museum in Kommern are perfect for day trips. Walks, long hikes, swimming, strolls through quaint Eifel villages with their half-timbered houses promise variety and relaxation.

Feel the Freedom!   The newly furnished holiday flat "L' Extravagante im Garten von Schloss Schmidtheim" offers wonderful peace and quiet in a special house: a historic villa from the 19th century. This lovely flat boasts plenty of space and light and natural materials such as wood and stone make the foundation for our guests' relaxation. The high ceilings offer room to breathe, and give this exceptional accommodation a castle flair. Huge windows provide wonderful brightness and the feeling of being part of the natural spectacle taking place outside. A small terrace with its own garden and a view of the large orchard invite you to observe, relax and enjoy. Active holiday guests will also get their money's worth: Just a step out the door and through the red garden gate - kilometres of hiking and cycling trails await to be discovered.   If desired, we are happy to extend an invitation to visit the castle courtyard and park opposite the holiday home. Please get in touch.   LOCATION:   The holiday flat "L' Extravagante im Garten von Schloss Schmidtheim" is located on the ground floor of the villa - in the middle of the Eifel and is surrounded by pure nature. It is only a stone’s throw away from Schmidtheim Castle and is found directly across from the Castle Gardens. Upon arriving, we recommend that our guests take a leisurely discovery walk. About 300 metres from the holiday home is a forest path that leads to a picturesque pond. You should plan about one hour for the way there and back.   For the following days of your stay, you can choose between a diverse range of excursions and hikes offered by Nord Eifel Tourismus. You will find a brochure in the holiday flat. You are also welcome to ask us for tips and excursion destinations at any time. Our family has lived at Schmidtheim Castle for more than 500 years. Our vacation home (you can find the booking plan on the website www.eifelhaus-brenk.de) is located on the edge of the district of Dahlem-Baasem and offers a fantastic view of the hilly Eifel landscape with meadows and pastures. Shopping facilities and restaurants can be found in the nearby village of Stadtkyll as well as in the romantic village of Kronenburg. With its medieval gates, pretty old houses, the ring wall, the old administration building and the castle, the old town center is a special tourist attraction. The beautifully situated Kronenburg reservoir is approx. 3 km away and offers opportunities for swimming at the beach and boating. The small Eifel village of Baasem in the German-Belgian Nature Park looks back on more than 1000 years of history. The village was first mentioned in a document in 867 as "Basenheim". The local church is well worth a visit; around 1510, the existing single-nave hall church was extended to become the two-nave late Gothic hall church that exists today.

The apartment with separate entrance, has a size of 65 square meters with living-bedroom, kitchen, hallway, shower / WC and double bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, ceramic hob, coffee machine, toaster, etc. A TV with SAT connection, stereo system with CD and DVD player is also available.
