There is an open kitchen/living area with a sofa bed, a barrier-free bathroom with a shower and a bedroom with a double bed. The terrace is barrier-free and invites you to relax and feel good. A parking space is available free of charge. Located in the beautiful volcanic Eifel, it is an ideal starting point for walks, long hikes or bike tours on the Maare-Moselle cycle path. Ideally located for hikers, cyclists or bikers. The "Eyes of the Eifel", the Holzmaar, Pulvermaar, Schalkenmehrener Maar, Weinfelder Maar and Gemündener Maar are within a radius of approx. 10 km and invite you to walk, swim or go boating. Hiking trails such as the Eifelsteig, Lieserpfad and Heimatspuren can be reached in the immediate vicinity. Day trips to Germany's oldest city, to Trier or to the Moselle, to Koblenz to the border triangle or to the Nürburgring can be reached by car in one to two hours. The motorway junctions Mehren/Vulkaneifel and Manderscheid are only approx. 12 km away. You can reach the train station Wittlich/Wengerohr in approx. 35 km, from here excursions to the Saar loop, to the Moselle or to Cologne are possible with many connections. Shops can be found in Gillenfeld (approx. 5 km) or in Daun (approx. 10 km). Please note that there are no shops or restaurants in the village itself. On request and against payment of costs, we can therefore fill the fridge for you before your arrival. If required, a second small apartment for 1-2 people is available in town and can be arranged. Welcome to the website Vulkaneifel in Nickenich For your vacation or a short vacation, we offer you three well-equipped holiday apartments in the middle of the Laacher See volcanic region, on the “Deutsche Vulkanstraße” in the immediate vicinity of Laacher See with numerous excursion and hiking opportunities. In our annex we have built 2 new 50 m² apartments. Both apartments are on the 1st floor. The beautiful, light-flooded apartments are spacious and ideally suited for 2-4 people. The apartments have a spacious bedroom with box spring bed, wardrobe and space for a travel cot. A large kitchen with a fully equipped new kitchen, dishes and cutlery for 4 people, 4 plate hob with oven, dishwasher, extractor hood, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. In the living area, a cozy couch and a flat-screen TV invite you to relax. One apartment has access to a sunny south-west balcony. The spacious bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The Jugendhof Finkenberg has undergone several structural changes in its 60-year history and has been adapted to the wishes and needs of its guests. Today the Jugendhof has 153 beds in 39 multi-bed rooms. Six of these rooms are barrier-free. Each room has its own shower room. A modern sports hall, a professional canteen kitchen, recreation, seminar and exercise rooms complete the picture of the Jugendhof Finkenberg. The free and undisturbed location of the Jugendhof Finkenberg allows for numerous adventure-based educational programs such as - Wilderness training - Team-building measures and activities for - Nature and history education. The supporting programs are carried out by trained partners and can be booked at any time. We have two fire pits on our premises, one of which is covered.

In our listed half-timbered house, you live in a rustic atmosphere without having to do without the amenities of a modern apartment. Please understand that pets and smoking are not allowed in the rooms. The use of the Finnish sauna must be charged separately. The use of the sauna is possible for a daily fee of € 10.
