Beautiful, quietly located holiday flat in the heart of the Volcanic Eifel - on the outskirts of Daun. The ground floor flat in a detached two-family house has a large garden with direct access to the forest.

The Maare-Mosel cycle path and access to the Eifelsteig and Lieserpfad hiking trails are only a few hundred metres away.

The nearest bakery is 800m away. The town centre with restaurants, shopping and entertainment facilities, as well as the tourist information are within walking distance. (cafés, cinema, indoor swimming pool, volcano museum etc.).

The Maare can be reached via appropriate hiking trails (3 km) or are only a few minutes away by car. The Nürburgring and various Moselle towns are within easy reach for beautiful day trips.

The Daun Game and Adventure Park is 7 km away.

The distance to the A1 motorway is approx. 5 km.

    So close to the stars...Living in a monument & guided tours in our garden observatoryOur half-timbered farm is located in the northern Eifel, in the German-Belgian nature park Hohes Venn - Eifel. The holiday flat is located in Lückerath, a small, idyllic village which belongs to the town of Mechernich in the south of North Rhine-Westphalia. It lies in the area of the Eifel National Park. The small village with 300 inhabitants has numerous beautifully preserved half-timbered houses. There are many hiking and cycling trails here, as well as many sights in the immediate vicinity. Shopping facilities approx. 4 km, restaurants approx. 2 km - 5 km You live here in the former ‘corner shop’ in a separate building of a listed farm complex, the oldest building dates from around 1640. Both half-timbered houses have been expertly restored by us over the last three years with great attention to detail and using only natural building materials such as wood and clay. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the right place for you. In the 1000 square metre garden there are specially designed areas for our guests with plenty of space and a view of the greenery. The flat offers a modern fitted kitchen with an open view into the living and dining area, a small bathroom with shower and WC. It has 2 bedrooms with two double beds (180 x 200 cm), the smaller of which is located in a cosy room under the roof. The holiday flat is equipped with television and WLAN.Our special highlight:Sky observation in our garden observatoryEven as a child in the early 1960s, I, Rainer Kuhl, was fascinated by the starry sky. I explored the universe with my first telescope from Foto Quelle. This fascination never left me and fifty years later I have reawakened this passion. I was always drawn to areas with dark nights. And so, over time, the idea of looking for a suitable house in an area with little light developed. After a few years, our dream came true and we have now found our place in the Eifel Star Park. In 2021 I completed the training to become a certified SternenGuide SternenLandschaft Eifel. In my self-built garden observatory I would like to bring you closer to the starry sky! You are also welcome to bring your own instruments, appropriate places are available.

Monschau, for example, invites you to take a stroll past the historic half-timbered houses. In addition to the "Red House" with its original furnishings from the cloth-making era and the "Mustard Museum", the castle offers an impressive view of the narrow, winding alleyways. Bad Münstereifel with its "City Outlets" within its historic town walls also attracts thousands of visitors every year. You can also visit the historic Kronenburg, Heimbach and Nideggen with their romantic houses and cobbled streets. We will be happy to inform you about hiking routes and excursions in the surrounding area.

    We would like to offer our guests a time of deceleration, relaxation and recreation in the midst of pure nature. The holiday flat is located on a former agricultural farm, in the quiet valley of the Brohlbach not far from the villages of Kaifenheim, Brachtendorf and Zettingen in the Vordereifel. The surrounding meadows, fields and forest belong to the farm.The flat is located on the brook side of the property, accessible at ground level via a separate entrance.It consists of: hallway with wardrobe, comfortably furnished living room with couch set, side table, chest of drawers and SAT-TV, open kitchen area, separated from the living area by a dining counter, with new, modern fitted kitchen, which provides oven, microwave, ceramic hob and other electrical appliances, a separate bedroom next to the living room (double bed, wardrobe, reading corner) with access to the bathroom (daylight window, walk-in shower, WC and washbasin), a guest toilet on the upper floor, where there is also an exit to the large terrace with a view of the stream, forest and meadows.
