Welcome to the website Vulkaneifel in Nickenich For your vacation or a short vacation, we offer you three well-equipped holiday apartments in the middle of the Laacher See volcanic region, on the “Deutsche Vulkanstraße” in the immediate vicinity of Laacher See with numerous excursion and hiking opportunities. In our annex we have built 2 new 50 m² apartments. Both apartments are on the 1st floor. The beautiful, light-flooded apartments are spacious and ideally suited for 2-4 people. The apartments have a spacious bedroom with box spring bed, wardrobe and space for a travel cot. A large kitchen with a fully equipped new kitchen, dishes and cutlery for 4 people, 4 plate hob with oven, dishwasher, extractor hood, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. In the living area, a cozy couch and a flat-screen TV invite you to relax. One apartment has access to a sunny south-west balcony. The spacious bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. Our third apartment is behind the historic castle gate. This is about 45 m² and has a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom and is also on the first floor. Our apartments are NON-SMOKING APARTMENTS! The Kaifenheimer mill, first mentioned in 1005, lies in the Brohlbach valley immersed in nature, surrounded by meadows, fields and forest, 800 meters from the village Kaifenheim. Despite this solitary position the mill is traffic-technically very well connected - the mill has its own bus stop (400 m) and the A48 can be reached in five minutes. The mill offers - the guest seeking recreation an oasis of tranquility - meadows and wood close to the mill are part of the estate, - the rambler plentiful opportunity for hiking tours in the near and far - the award-winning premium hiking trails as "STraumpfade" and the stages of the "Mosel Trail" is a few minutes in reach, - the bike hikers many varied tours, across the low mountains of the Eifel and the river valley of the Mosel, - the patrimonial interested visitors many opportunities for excursions through a varied landscape - the volcanic Eifel and culturally important cities like Trier, Koblenz and Mayen and its many attractions are within easy reach, - the connoisseurs of excellent wines and good food the nearby Moselle and excellent country inns in the area. You spend your holidays in a former water mill, which was used to grind grain, and later for the production of rapeseed oil. The waterwheel and the art in the mill building are still fully present, and will be shown on request to our guests. The mill consists of five buildings that are partially used for private and tourist residential purposes. A central part of the farm are the, Grade II Listed chapel established in 1895, and a grotto dedicated to the Holy Bernadette.

Our holiday flat has been completely renovated. This contains a new bathroom as well as new furniture and the flat is ready for occupancy in October 2020 at the earliest. The flat is part of our one-family house, it is spacious with its 55 sqm and it offers enough space for two people. Our house is the last one in a calm dead-end street and the flat is at ground level with a separate entrance. The parking lot in front of the house is to your disposal. Your holiday flat has a light foyer, a cozy living room with a couch and a dining corner, a separate fully-equipped kitchen, a roomy bedroom with a full-size bed and a bathroom with a shower. Additionally to the flat you find a storage room with a lot of useful devices, for example a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board. In front of the house there is a cozy lounge to end your day. You can store your bikes, e-bikes and motorcycles in a lockable garage. You spend your holidays in a calm residential area which is nevertheless close to the centre. The centre of Daun with its restaurants, cafés, cinema and shops can be easily reached by foot in about 10 – 15 minutes. There are two supermarkets, one includes a bakery, not more than 800m away. The playground for kids is close to the flat – about 200m away. We hope for your understanding as smoking and pets are not permitted in our holiday flat.
