Pure village life: Our castle (built in 1509) is located in the middle of the picturesque Schönecker Schweiz in the old and quiet village center of Hersdorf.Our comfortably furnished vacation apartment in the former barn is the ideal starting point for hikes and explorations of the Eifel - from the volcanic Eifel with the maars to the High Fens and Luxembourg. Guests with children are just as welcome as guests with pets. Just come and relax and unwind. We look forward to seeing you! The accommodation The vacation apartment is built into a former barn. It has a large living room with adjoining kitchen area, a fireplace, a dining area and a living area with sofa (can be converted into a sofa bed). A wooden staircase leads to the gallery with the sleeping area. From the entrance, however, you first enter the hallway with checkroom and the modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Access for guests In front of the vacation apartment is a loggia with seating and a partially covered barbecue area, which our guests are welcome to use by prior arrangement. Our village Hersdorf is a tiny village with about 400 inhabitants. Our castle is in a very quiet location. There are no shops in the village, no bakery and unfortunately no village pub. So bring something with you for breakfast the morning after your arrival. But there is fresh milk straight from the farmer. We will be happy to put a bottle of milk in the fridge for the first morning if you order in advance.As in many places in the Eifel, the mobile phone network is not ideal. So you won't have reception everywhere in the apartment.The nearest small supermarket, bakery, pubs, restaurants etc. can be found in Schönecken, about 4 km away.More restaurants, museums and a good ice cream parlor can be found in Prüm, about 8 km as the crow flies from Hersdorf.

The holiday house is located in a quiet residential area, only three minutes walk from the sports fieldt, the Tennishalle and the park, and the Eifelsteig.The House offers 115 square meters for six people. It has three bedrooms furnished with double beds, two bathrooms and an open living area with dining room and comfortable fitted kitchen.A high-quality TV set, blue ray player, telephone and WLAN are part of the technical equipment.A spacious terrace and the large garden with small barbecue are also available.Prices plus guest contribution on site: 1,50 € per person (from 7 years) and night.The holiday flat is not available for fitters.

Apartment located between Gemünd and Heimbach in a National Park site. The apartment occupies the ground floor of a country house in a semi-natural terrain. On the south side it has a front garden, a terrace, a glade and a small forest. The apartment is new (Brand2015) and has 45 square meters. The National Park is within walking distance. As for the sights od de region, the position is central, because both Heimbach with Rurtal, Gemünd with Urftsee, Kommern with open-air museum and monastery Mariawald are within a maximum of 10 minutes by car; This goes also for the large shopping mall area near kall! Nideggen with sandstone rocks, castle museum, Zülpich with Roman Bath Museum, Lake and a PArkway ground (entrance fee), the so called Ordensburg Vogelsang (National Parc Centre) and the deerpark (Hochwildpark) Rheinland are only about 15 minutes away. Münstereifel can be reached in 25 minutes and Monschau in 32. The National Park for hiking begins right at the village and is of course within walking distance. Squirrel glade is a Non smoking appartement, smoking is allowed on the terrace.

Our house is located in a small holiday park in the immediate vicinity of the reservoir Bitburg. Since it is located in the first row, it has an unobstructed view of the reservoir. In the immediate vicinity are two hotels and several restaurants. The county town of Bitburg is 10 km away, Trier is 35 km away and it is 27 km to Vianden in Luxembourg. All leisure activities such as hiking, cycling, jogging are possible on the doorstep, as well as the Prüm is an excellent fishing area. The terrace of the house is designed so that small children can enjoy this carefree. Furthermore, dogs are welcome. The terrace is fenced and the newly renovated house has fly screens and shutters in all rooms. Our house has a new cozy sitting area, a new kitchen and more. with ceramic hob and dishwasher, a newly built walk-in shower with a corresponding folding seat and a box spring bed in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has an additional TV. The second bedroom has two single boxspring beds. Furthermore, the house is equipped with Wifi (16MB), Internet radio with music system, baby cot, high chair, clothes horse, woodburning stove, patio furniture and hair dryer.
