Our holiday home is located in the middle of the Eifel village of Bermel, which was built on a volcanic slope and where the Romans left their traces. Bermel is idyllically nestled between woods and meadows, an ideal starting point to explore the Eifel on foot, by bike, motorbike or by car. Numerous leisure activities make our area a wonderful holiday region at any time of the year. The house was renovated in 2021 with great attention to detail and impresses with the use of natural building materials. The nearest town of Mayen, as well as the Nürburgring, can be reached by car in 15 minutes. The maars of the Volcanic Eifel are in the immediate vicinity and offer perfect cooling on hot summer days. The "Hochbermeler" dream trail starts right on the doorstep and other dream trails in the surrounding area are within easy reach.
The "Alte Uhrmacherei", a listed half-timbered house, was first mentioned in a document in 1489 and was further extended at the end of the 18th century. We have renovated the house from the ground up and extensively modernised it while preserving the original character of a half-timbered house. The three holiday flats that have been created are charming and stylishly furnished, each with its own individual touch. The house is located below Hengebach Castle, centrally in the village centre and right next to the art academy of the town of Heimbach. The national park town of Heimbach, the smallest town in North Rhine-Westphalia, is a recognised climatic health resort in the beautiful Eifel region with around 4,600 inhabitants. Heimbach is located directly on the Schwammenauel Rurtalsperre reservoir. As a place of excursions and recreation, Heimbach offers a number of historical sights, such as Hengebach Castle, Mariawald Abbey or the industrial museum in the Art Nouveau hydroelectric power station dating from 1904. Once a year, a week-long chamber music festival with musicians from over 40 nations takes place here. The festival "SPANNUNGEN" has both traditional chamber music compositions and modern works in its repertoire and is known and appreciated far beyond the borders.Übersetzt mit DeepL. Translate
