The historic Birgel watermill is a unique mill experience centre and the largest in Europe. The four mills are still in operation today: mustard mill, grain mill, oil mill and sawmill.
Visit the Klausenhöhle ( cave) on the Premium hiking trail ``Römerpfad`` and let the past come back to life. According to legends, a hermit lived in the cave in the 18th century.
This Eifel view, located on the Mausauel above the Obermaubach reservoir, is at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level and offers you a distant view in a south-westerly to north-westerly direction over the high plateau of the Rur-Eifel and the Hürtgen Forest all the way to the High Fens.
