R Ni4 - From Aare trail 9.5 km - difficult
A walk for the whole family, the approx. 2.7 km long circular trail leads through the village of Neidenbach and past meadows and fields. There are always beautiful panoramic views of Neidenbach.
The circular route leads through the Perlenbach valley to the "Unterer Steg" footbridge, which crosses the stream.
The tour begins and returns at the parish church St-Luzia of the 16th century . Through the town, along typical Eifel-houses, the route leads over the famous ``Jakobsweg`` to Messenberg. Whilst ascending, the view of the historic town of Welschbillig and Möhn can be seen. During the trail the "Jakobshut" offers shelter and resting possibilities. After the village of Träg, the path runs through a remote and romantic forest. Once the forest divides, glimpses of other villages can be seen. On the way back to the starting point, you will walk past contemporary witnesses from the past such as the Roman Langmauer.
Until a few decades ago, slate mining shaped large parts of our region as far as the Moselle. The population in Kehrig also lived partly from work in the slate pits.
