With its medieval gates, pretty old houses, the ring wall, the old administration building and the castle, the old town center is a special tourist attraction. The beautifully situated Kronenburg reservoir is approx. 3 km away and offers opportunities for swimming at the beach and boating. The small Eifel village of Baasem in the German-Belgian Nature Park looks back on more than 1000 years of history. The village was first mentioned in a document in 867 as "Basenheim". The local church is well worth a visit; around 1510, the existing single-nave hall church was extended to become the two-nave late Gothic hall church that exists today.
