You can also hire a bike to explore the Ahr cycle path. You can use the parking lot at the house free of charge. The Nürburgring is approx. 20 minutes away by car, the A61 highway approx. 30 minutes.

Our old quarry stone building has walls 80 - 90 cm thick. The interior of the building was renovated and extended 70, 40 and just last year. A large garden belongs to the house, which can be used by our guests. We take care of our property, but also leave nature its space in some areas, so that in summer we encounter a multitude of butterflies, the emblem of our village. In autumn, a pair of squirrels collects the nuts. There are also predators at our house, as one or two pairs of magpies always nest in the large beech trees in the garden. There is plenty of parking space on and around our property. Bicycles can be stored.

Relaxing in a ceramic and artist's court nearby the Nürburgring - about15 km away. Relaxing days in the Oberahrtal, as we think, the most idyllic part of the Ahr valley. Description There are up to 3 double rooms with satellite TV in the house. A separate bathroom with shower, toilet is reserved for guests. Welcome to Himmerod AbbeyIn 1135, Bernard of Clairvaux himself sent his spiritual sons, the gray Cistercian monks of Clairvaux, to the green folds by the flowing waters of the Salm. He had convinced himself of the ideal location of the valley basin between Kunowald, Salm and gentle hills.The abbey's first name "Claustrum" means island, refuge, protection and shelter. In just a few years, the monks turned the monastery into an important religious and spiritual center of the Eifel region.The entire monastery complex is still enclosed by the medieval cloister wall (14th century).The structural principle of the complex is the concentric circles (like the coat of arms) in the exterior: guest house, workshops, mill, bookshop, inn, courtyard, gardens: in the interior: Church and monastery building, cloister and quadrum. In the center is the church, which was rebuilt in the 1950s according to the model of the old building by C. Kretschmar.
