Circular walk around Pyrmont Castle

The spectacular Pyrmonter Felsensteig dream trail begins directly at the Pyrmonter Mühle mill with its rushing waterfalls. A quiet forest path leads up to the fertile heights of the Maifeld. There you can hike through fields of rapeseed in bloom in spring or waving grain in summer. The hike is characterized by expansive views of Pyrmont Castle or across to the volcanic cones of the Eastern Eifel, before descending through the Juckelberg nature reserve back down into the wild, wooded Elz Valley. Behind Pyrmont Castle, you enter the "realm of rocks" with ivy-covered caves, steep cliffs and picturesque castle views.
