MTB: Kloster & Burg - unsere History-Tour

On this tour, discover not only the historical side of the Vulkaneifel, but also the incredible beauty of its unspoiled nature in the stream valleys of the Vulkaneifel.

After setting out from Deudesfeld and passing the little village of Weidenbach, you’ll reach Wallenborn. There, it’s worth taking a brief detour from the route to stop at the Wallenden Born, a small cold-water geyser. After that, the Walmer Bach and Marschbach streams will accompany you to Niederstadtfeld. You can look forward to unspoiled nature: You’ll ride along forest trails through the pristine and idyllic valley of the Kleine Kyll to Schutz and from there to the castle town of Manderscheid. If you’d like, you can take a break there and stop at one of the restaurants. Afterward, you’ll continue down into the Kleine Kyll valley, which will enchant you with its unspoiled beauty. You’ll make a detour to Himmerod Abbey, where the Baroque abbey church will captivate you. Still looking for a souvenir? You’ll find what you’re looking for in the little monastery shop. You’ll continue cycling through sunny stretches of forest toward Bettenfeld and back to the starting point in Deudesfeld.
