MTB: Himmel un Ääd - von den Maarhöhen zur Koulshore

A short but challenging bike tour with plenty of highlights around Daun: Discover the three Daun maars, the Dronketurm, and the KoulShore technical trail.

On the road between heaven and earth in the Vulkaneifel: Hop on your bike and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Daun on this cycling tour! After setting off from the small town, you’ll reach the tour’s first highlight after a few kilometers: the Maarkreuz in Schalkenmehren! From there, the route takes you past the Weinfelder Maar. Take some time to pet the free-roaming donkeys! Passing the Hoher List Observatory, the route takes you along forest and meadow paths toward Koulshore—the technical trail for mountain bikers. Here you can really let loose. Who can find the right rhythm on the pump track and ride through it in one go? Passing Weiersbach, the route climbs up to the “Eifel Blick” lookout point and continues on to Mäuseberg, where the Dronketurm tower stands. From here, you’ll have an incredible view. On the way back, take a loop around the Gemündener Maar before returning to your starting point.
