A few days after the disaster of the "Battle of All Souls", Eisenhower's planned advance to the Rhine began on November 16, 1944 with "Operation Queen", the largest tactical air attack in support of ground troops during the entire Second World War.

The hiking trail named after him takes you from the Glockenofen parking lot, along the X-Trail, past a former ore mine and a bunker to the "Wehetal" viewpoint. From there you reach the Wehe bridge.

To discover even more traces of the Second World War, you can extend the trail from here by 5 kilometers in the direction of Rabenheck and "Five Points".

Otherwise, the trail leads you back to Großhau from here. At the Asterbach parking lot, you can take a look at old German positions. Further along the trail, you have a wonderful view of the Aachener Land region. Finally, you return to the parking lot via the elevation Hemingway called the "Arschnackten Hügel".
