Description

Enjoy the idyllic half-timbered houses of the town of Bad Münstereifel, the historic castle ruins and the beautiful nature in the Bad Münstereifeler Wald nature reserve.

The hike up to the Eselsberg is short but varied. Bad Münstereifel as the starting and finishing point invites you to linger with its idyllic restaurants, cozy inns and charming cafés. The alternation of historic buildings, small villages and rustic beech forests ensures that you can switch off wonderfully despite the steep ascent.

At the top of the Eselsberg, an impressive view over meadows, fields and forests awaits you. The Bad Münstereifeler Wald nature reserve is characterized by extensive beech and floodplain forests, which provide a protected habitat for numerous wild and endangered animal and plant species in North Rhine-Westphalia. Münstereifel Castle, built in the 13th century, rounds off the experience with a fantastic view over the town of Bad Münstereifel.
