This Eifel loop hike takes you through two impressive nature reserves - the Katzensteine and the Veybachtal. The trail itself is an experience in itself, but the real highlights of the tour are undoubtedly the striking rocks of the Katzensteine and the impressive Satzvey Castle.

The Katzensteine are a fascinating rock formation made of red sandstone. They tower up to 15 meters high and impress with their rugged shapes and intense, reddish colouring. A special place that combines nature, tranquillity and fascination - perfect for a short break with a view.

Just a few kilometers further on, the romantic Satzvey Castle, one of the best-preserved moated castles in the Rhineland, awaits you. It has been family-owned for over 300 years and enchants visitors with its historic charm. The castle courtyards are freely accessible all year round, and those who want to delve even deeper into history can visit the castle as part of an exciting guided tour.

All year round, the castle is the venue for atmospheric events - from knights' festivals and medieval markets to imaginative stage shows and music evenings. A very special highlight is the Burgweihnacht, one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the region: here the moated castle is transformed into a fairytale setting full of lights, scents and festive atmosphere.
