Be inspired by the unique volcanic landscape on this tour from Daun to Ulmen and enjoy fantastic views of the Ulmen maar and the Jungferweiher pond.


Before you set off...

It happens from time to time that sections of the trail have to be temporarily diverted or closed. Just take a look at www.gesundland-vulkaneifel.de/info/wege-info/.

You start in the town center of Daun and shortly afterwards marvel at the Daun Viaduct, the town's landmark, before you start your cycle tour on a forest path. You first cycle along the Maare-Moselle cycle path towards Mehren and then a good 10 kilometers through the most beautiful Eifel forests. You can easily master the climbs on your e-bike. After Meiserich, Ulmen is next on the route and about half of the route is behind you - time for a long rest in Ulmen, where you can discover the Ulmen maar, the Ulmener Jungferweiher pond, the old castle ruins and the maar gallery! So plan enough time to look around Ulmen. Then get back on the saddle. On the way back, the Meiserich mill is right on the way. Past Schönbach and via Darscheid, you return to Daun, where there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments.

The mixture of natural tour sections and the lively little Eifel towns make this cycle tour special!
