Circular hiking trail Messerich - Birtlingen

Almost 10 km long circular walk from Messerich through the idyllic village of Birtlingen.

The "Dorf-Förderverein Messerich - Birtlingen e. V." has designed and signposted a circular trail in agreement with the local communities of Messerich and Birtlingen and in cooperation with the Bitburger Land tourist information office. 
The 9.4 km long circular trail is signposted in both directions and leads extensively around and through both villages. The start and finish is at the Messerich parish hall at Schulstraße 1. If you follow the trail clockwise, turn into Kirchstraße shortly after the start at the parish hall and follow the directional arrows at the lower cemetery parking lot. If you would like to walk the circular route counter-clockwise, the entrance after the start is in Hauptstraße, then turn left at Ingendorferstraße, cross the bridge and in Mühleneck turn right in the direction of the sports field and follow the further signs.

The hiking trail is shown in the hiking map No. 18 of the Bitburger-Land holiday region, which was reissued by the Eifelverein in cooperation with the Bitburger Land Tourist Information and the Southern Eifel Nature Park in the summer of 2022 on a scale of 1 : 25,000. 

The circular hiking trail was officially opened in September 2022.
