These old pines symbolize genetic strength, adaptability, and continuity. For decades, they have thrived under changing climatic conditions - a sign of their particular resilience.
Their cones are now harvested by specially trained climbers. The seeds obtained from them serve as a valuable basis for the cultivation of new, climate-resilient pines in nurseries.
Thus, this population with its "good genes" helps strengthen our forests for future generations and prepare them for the challenges of climate change.
