Jünkerath
The "New Colony" is a former railway settlement. Take a look at this urbanistic and architecturally beautiful ensemble. It is probably unique in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Around 1920, the settlement "New Colony" was created in Jünkerath-Glaadt. It was built for railway employees by the railway company.
The attractive complex is ring-shaped and consists of gatehouse, six semi-detached houses and a limited bar with six residential units. The semi-detached houses as well as the continuous rows of houses have well-divided facades and between the buildings are a courtyard and garden areas. There you see the high standard of an advanced contemporary settlement construction at that time. Today, the buildings are privately owned.
