Officer Wölk is a "Düren original," whose figure is also immortalized in the city. From 1881, he was one of the three officers of Düren and experienced a lot. He interpreted the service regulations in a very uncomplicated way.

Accompany the stately man in a blue uniform and pickelhaube on his patrol through the city center. He shares humorous anecdotes about life in the city and the Rhineland mentality. Officer Wölk brings Düren's past to life entertainingly from a Protestant-Prussian perspective.

    The Abenden leisure pool is located in the Rur valley directly on the Rur and is surrounded by wooded mountain slopes. A spacious sunbathing area invites you to sunbathe and relax and the large swimming pool allows carefree bathing fun. The large, gently sloping non-swimmer area is ideal for families with small children. There is a sheltered playground on the grounds with a slide, nest swing and much more, as well as an adjacent beach volleyball court, basketball hoop and table tennis table for sporting activities. The kiosk offers drinks, ice cream and food at reasonable prices. The outdoor pool is just a 2-minute walk from the Abenden Rurtalbahn train stop.
