Ich bin ein stiller Zeuge der Vergangenheit
Stolberg
Deep in the forest I stand – an old bunker, silent and long overgrown with moss.
Many decades ago, during the Second World War, I was built to protect people. Today I am no longer a place of fear, but a home for bats, beetles, and spiders.
A bunker is a structure made of thick concrete. Its walls are very sturdy and keep the temperature almost constant throughout the year – regardless of whether it is hot or freezing cold outside. This is perfect for animals that like it cool and quiet. If you pass by a bunker, please keep your distance and leave everything as it is so that the new residents are not disturbed.
Secret insight: Stand still next to the bunker and listen. Do you hear the voices of birds, the buzzing of insects, or perhaps even the dripping of water? Think about it: Who could possibly live here?
