Ich bin der Waldrand

Sometimes I am not really seen - but I am more than just the end of the forest.

I am the edge of the forest, varied and yet never boring, because I am where trees and meadows meet. I am a very special place because I am a mixture of many things: forest and meadow, light and shade, protection and openness.

I am therefore the perfect meeting place for animals. Some like to hide in the dense bushes, others flutter between the trees or climb in the crowns. Birds and insects feel particularly at home here, but animals such as deer also come by. And sometimes tracks in the grass reveal who has already been out and about here.

Animal detective: Look around carefully. Can you spot an animal or one of its tracks? Think about who might live here - and who might just be visiting.
