Ich bin die Johanneskapelle
Stolberg
I may not be in the middle of the village - but I am reliably there, with a view of what comes and goes.
They call me St. John's Chapel, and I've been standing here for over 300 years. In the past, chapels were often the most important building in a village and were therefore located in the center. It's different with me: I'm more on the edge and that's exactly what makes me a quiet place to pause for a moment.
Nevertheless, I've seen many things come and go over the years: sunny afternoons, small celebrations or people seeking peace and quiet for a moment. That's why my stones also bear traces of time. If you look closely, you will notice that even a small building can carry a lot of history within it without telling it aloud.
Become a historical detective: walk around me and look for a detail that seems "old" to you - a stone, a pattern, an edge, a trace on the material. What could it reveal about the past?
