Eifel-Blick "Kierberg"

Simmerath

Open today

The Kierberg lies at an altitude of 455 meters above sea level. The view from here stretches far across the Rursee to the east into the Eifel National Park. According to the motto "Let nature be nature", deciduous forests typical of the area develop in the Eifel National Park largely without human intervention. Many rare animal and plant species find a home in the extensive deciduous forests.

Majestic beech forests, gnarled oaks and wild streams: visitors are offered spectacular impressions when visiting the national park. The national park can be experienced on your own or with an expert guide. The national park gates in the area provide information about the opportunities to experience nature.

The Rursee is the main lake of the approximately 24-kilometre-long Rur dam and the largest of the 9 dams in the Eifel region. It is used to regulate the water in the lower reaches of the Rur, to generate electricity, to provide service water and offers many opportunities for leisure and recreation.

How to get there:
The Eifel-Blick is located directly on the L128 country road between Steckenborn and Woffelsbach. Coming from Steckenborn, the parking lot is on the right-hand side of the road.
