Simmerath
The "Wolfshügel" Eifel viewpoint is situated at an altitude of 360m high above Einruhr. This exposed location provides a fantastic view of the Eifel village, which is well worth seeing. A unique distant view stretches across the village over the Obersee to the Buhlert forest area. The Rur bridge visible in the foreground was built in the 19th century and was the first stone bridge to cross the Rur.
The panorama board on site helps with orientation and provides interesting information about the visible landscape.
The Eifel viewpoint "Wolfshügel" can only be reached on foot. From the Rurbrücke bridge in Einruhr, follow the Eifelsteig trail markings and after a short steep climb you will reach the viewpoint. Parking is available at the Rurbrücke bridge in Simmerath-Einruhr and in the town center.
A visit can easily be combined with a hike. The Eifelsteig trail and the local circular hiking trail Püngelbach (no. 75) lead directly past the Eifel-Blick.
