Burg Ramstein - Eine gotische Ruine im Kylltal

In September 2016, the new visitor’s and exhibition centre, the Forum Vogelsang IP, was opened. The two main exhibitions are the documentation of the National Socialist period, “Destiny: Master Race. National Socialist Ordensburgen - Both Fascination and Crime” and the adventure exhibition “Wilderness Dreams” organised by the Eifel National Park Centre.

The present day chapel "To the Birth of Mary" in Helleweg 3 in Langscheid was built in 1847 and is accessible during the day. It is located diagonally across from the impressive village linden in the center of the village. The small community of Langscheid itself is idyllically located in the middle of the juniper heaths.

In 1905, the hydroelectric power plant in Heimbach at the Urft dam went into operation as the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world at that time.

Age and candle smoke gave the almost black-colored statue of the Virgin Mary in the legendary 700-year-old oak tree its name.
