In principle, the border water permits are valid for the Sauer, the Our and the Moselle, but only for the river sections that run along the border between Germany and Luxembourg.
A fishing license or an identity card must be presented for issuance. Children up to and including 14 years of age do not need a fishing license, but must fish in the company of an adult who has the license. A pre-order is not required (except for groups).
Any additional regulations and special rules are summarized in a booklet that anglers receive when they receive their boundary water license.
The permits are available for three time periods:
One week (5,00 €)
One month (10,00 €)
One year (15,00 €)
(Payment is possible only in cash at the issuing office).

Fishing in the border waters is possible year-round, except for the various closed seasons.
