This Eifel view (approx. 300 metres above sea level) on the west tower, the so-called "Damenerker", of the castle offers you a distant view in a south-westerly to north-westerly direction over the middle Rur valley and the northern parts of the Eifel National Park across to the plateau of the Rur Eifel.

The former girls' school was built in 1907/1908 according to the plans of the district master builder Vienken by the master mason Matthias Berhard from Lüxem in an elevated position on the western edge of the village.
The ruins of the medieval Löwenburg Castle are towering high above the City of Gerolstein. The Castle is open all year round and offers a wonderful view over Gerolstein, the dolomites massif and the kyll valley. Every two years the castle-actors stage an open-air theatre within the historical walls.
