The circular tour around Engeln station offers wonderful views of the Eifel landscape, characterized by forests and fields, and can be wonderfully combined with a ride on the nostalgic narrow-gauge railroad "Vulkan-Expreß"
The Hocheifel-Panorama-Weg connects the predicate hiking trails AhrSteig and Eifelleiter over the ridges of the Hocheifel and captivates with fantastic views. Starting at the chapel in the tranquil Eifel village of Insul, the route quickly leads through the dense deciduous forest to the ridges of the Hocheifel. Fantastic distant views from the Winnerather Höhe to the opposite Eifel peaks and even as far as the Siebengebirge promise a scenic hike.

The "Alte 5er" offers plenty of variety and combines unique scenic highlights of the Vordereifel such as the Heidbüchel heathland, the Menkepark in the juniper heaths and the "Heidetümpel" biotope on the Kindgen.

The loop trail starts at the church in Trierweiler. From there, you walk through the lively village towards Grewenich. Arriving at the top of "Michelhölzchen", the view compensates the exhausting ascend. The view crosses plains in the direction of Udelfangen and the Sauer Valley. The further route leads down into the valley, along the Trierweilerer stream. This lovingly arranged gem invites you to linger. It´s worth a visit, in case it´s open. From there, head towards the motorway. The elevation reveals another view of Trierweiler. You return back to the starting point by walking along the beautiful park.
Discover spectacular views and experience nature with rugged basalt and lava rocks as well as ancient beech forests. The flowering of the lunar violets is particularly impressive in May and June.
