New Year's Concert of the Junge Philharmonie Köln

Anyone who attends a New Year's concert of the Junge Philharmonie Köln knows that on this day the light muse reigns with mischief and humor from the chief conductor Volker Hartung.

In addition to masterpieces by Edward Grieg, Jaques Offenbach and Maurice Ravel, the orchestra's young virtuosos will also perform the Overture to "The Gypsy Baron", the Champagne Polka and Carmen Fantaise by Pablo de Saraste to mark the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss, Jr.'s birth.
