Malberg Castle is located on a mountain spur in the idyllic Kyll Valley and is well worth a visit
The unique Malberg castle complex consists of the so-called New House, the Old House, the arcade building, the brewery and the chapel. The "Iron Garden" and the "Round Garden" are also part of the castle, which is situated on a mountain spur.
Malberg Castle dates back to a castle mentioned as early as 1008. Nothing remains of the medieval building. The Veyder family took over the castle in 1681 and from 1708 to 1715 Matteo Alberti, an architect from Venice, had it converted into a castle in the Venetian Baroque style. The representative buildings contain stucco ceilings and wood paneling as well as tapestries and old furniture. A painted wall covering with hunting scenes is unique.
