Off to a region that has imperial stories to tell! Architectural masterpieces, created by man, original paths, created by nature, combine to form a journey into an eventful past. Inspired by Aachen Cathedral, where Charlemagne was crowned emperor, or St. Salvator's Basilica in Prüm. Salvator Basilica in Prüm, which the emperor had magnificently decorated, you can cycle comfortably along many former railroad lines all the way to Bitburg, whose history goes back even further than Emperor Charles V: to Roman times. At the end of the tour, cyclists can indulge in fond memories of the eventful journey with a freshly tapped beer in hand. If you like, you can extend the tour by two days and experience more imperial stories on the way to Trier.

Day 1: Arrival
The tour begins with an overnight stay in Aachen.
For centuries, Aachen Cathedral, which the devil also had a hand in building, was the coronation site of German kings and emperors. On a city tour through historic squares and narrow alleyways, you will learn more about the many facets of the city in the border triangle of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Day 2: Aachen - Monschau | approx. 50 km
