The German Volcano Route leads right across the Eifel to a total of 39 selected geo-highlights.

The German Volcano Route connects 39 impressive natural monuments and geological features. On a guided day tour, you will discover selected stations and learn exciting facts about the fiery past of this unique region.

Suggested route:
9.00 a.m. - Welcome of the group by the tour guide in Maria Laach. Tour of the abbey. Followed by a 20-minute information film about the abbey.
10.30 a.m. - Onward journey to Mendig.
11.00 a.m. - Guided tour of the historic lava cellar. A must for every visitor to the volcano park.
12.30 p.m. - Lunch, e.g. in the brewery in Mendig*.
14.00 - Drive to the Volcanic Eifel
14.45 - Stop at the Weinfelder and Schalkenmehrener Maar with a fantastic view
3.15 p.m. - Continue to Daun.
3.30 pm - Visit to the Eifel Volcano Museum in Daun. Here you will be introduced to the secrets of volcanoes.
16.30 - End the day with coffee and cake*
17.30 - Start of the journey home
