Biber-Abendbeobachtung

150.00 €

A very exclusive offer awaits you in the months from May to August. In the dark, the beaver guide will take you to the beaver pond - with a bit of luck, you might even see a beaver!

The beaver is a fascinating animal. As a true hydraulic engineer, it shapes its environment according to its own needs. This creates unique, varied landscapes characterized by beaver dams and lakes - landscapes full of life.

Today, fortunately, the beaver is once again native to many landscapes in Germany, including the Eifelrur in the northern Eifel. Here you can see in many places what the beaver can do when it builds dams and castles, creates canals for timber rafting and beaver meadows for feeding in order to create a tailor-made home for itself.

In doing so, the master builder of nature also creates a habitat for many other animals and plants, including those that have otherwise almost disappeared from the modern landscape - the beaver is therefore a true ecosystem engineer.

If you want, you can follow in the beaver's footsteps with one of our beaver guides. You can either explore the habitat of the master builder and take a look at its most amazing structures and look for fresh gnaw marks or you can try to catch a glimpse of the beaver yourself in the evening - the emphasis is on try, because this is impossible without the right guide with the right experience.

We have open guided tours and bookable individual tours for exploring the habitat as well as for evening observation.

You can request guided tours via the contact form or directly from the Rureifel Tourismus GmbH booking office.
