There are numerous interesting hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty in the immediate vicinity, with wonderful views or sights such as the Nohn waterfall. There are also some wonderful mountain bike tours around Wirft. The Ahr cycle path is being rebuilt after the flood and can be ridden in the direction of Blankenheim and as far as Altenahr. The shopping town of Adenau, 7 km away, with all the usual discounters and a wide range of restaurants, can be reached quickly. The world-famous Nürburgring is only approx. 9 km away by car Cologne/Bonn Airport is 77 km away and Hahn Airport is 81 km away. In addition to the world-famous Nürburgring, the Kaiser-Wilhel-Tower on the Hohe Acht, the Dauner Maare, the Maria Laach monastery, the Freilinger bathing lake or the Kasselburg eagle and wolf park invite you to take a trip. You can hire bicycles or e-bikes in the shopping town of Adenau. The "Barweiler Mühle" fishing park with several ponds is located in the immediate vicinity (approx. 1500m) of the village.
