Hotel Graf Rolshausen

We are a hotel with 15 double rooms near the centre of Monschau. The house is 400 years old and the old wine cellar still exists. Now it is a restaurant and we have room for 60 people. We cooperate with other hotels, so that we can offer you rooms for more than 60 people. Of course all the rooms do have standard: shower, toilet, telephone and TV. There is a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal. The magical atmosphere of our 400 year old wine cellar takes you back to historical times.

The large south-facing balcony is accessible from both bedrooms and the living room - the perfect place to start the day in peace or to relax in the evening and enjoy the view of the surrounding meadows and forests.Gemünd, an idyllic district of Schleiden in the Eifel National Park, offers an ideal setting for nature lovers. Surrounded by forests and valleys, Gemünd is a perfect starting point for hikes and cycle tours, for example on the Eifelsteig trail. The nearby Urftsee and Rursee lakes are ideal for water sports activities and boat trips. Sights such as the historic Vogelsang Castle and Schleiden Castle offer cultural insights. The town center of Gemünd attracts visitors with cozy cafés and regional specialties. Excursion destinations such as Monschau, Bad Münstereifel and the Hellenthal wildlife park enrich your stay.     <p>Built in 1683 by Thurn und Taxis, the Posthalterhof has been renovated with great attention to detail and offers an exceptional ambience within old walls. Antique furniture and modern furnishings in the bedrooms, the newly renovated bathrooms and fully equipped, open kitchens are stylishly combined. In addition, wifi, flat-screen TVs with Netflix &amp; Prime and Alexa are available in the dining or living rooms.</p> <p>In addition to the ground floor (monument), which can be rented for up to 8 people, the top floor (castle maisonette) offers space for up to 6 people. On the first floor is the Ahrquelle apartment, which is ideal for 2 people. The Georgstor apartment on the first floor is designed for up to 3 people. Dogs are welcome.</p> <p>Guests on the ground floor have their own terrace with a large table and barbecue. Guests on the top floor have access to the garden on the first floor with a terrace and a large table with barbecue. Guests staying in the Ahrquelle&nbsp;apartment can also use the terrace in the garden. The wonderful view of Blankenheim Castle is included.</p><p>In December 2021 we opened our new sauna area for all guests of the Posthalterhof. In our large garden there is a 500-year-old vaulted cellar embedded in the rock. Here our guests can relax in the sauna and whirlpool in an extraordinary atmosphere - for up to 6 people. And in the sheltered outdoor area in the covered lounge corner, listen to music with a warming flame and enjoy the magnificent view of Blankenheim Castle.</p> <p>2 private parking spaces are located directly next to the Posthalterhof for guests. There are 3 more private parking spaces above the garden area. Bicycles and motorbikes can also be safely parked.</p> <p>Other important notes:<br>There are a few stairs within the ground floor. The flat Ahrquelle is on the first floor and can be reached via the stairs in the house or those from the courtyard. The Burg Maisonette flat is on the 2nd floor. Due to its character and construction, our house is not suitable for children under 3 years of age.</p> <p>Directly opposite you can get fresh rolls and bread as well as cakes at the bakery. The butcher's shop Engel with Eifel quality is about 200m away and offers meat and sausages from farms of the Eifel in own production. Pharmacy, 2 banks, flower shop and book shop are also located in the village next to Patina Antiques. Supermarket, discounter and drugstore can be reached in 2 minutes by car. Excellent food is available in the local brasserie, which is 1 minute's walk from the Posthalterhof.</p> <p>The Nürburgring is 30.5 km away. The City Outlet Centre and historic Bad Münstereifel is about 20 km away, as is the picturesque Burgdorf Kronenburg. Lake Kronenburg is also worth the 20-minute drive. Lake Freilingen, which is suitable for swimming, is only 15 minutes away by car. The Cologne trade fair is 75 km away, but the journey time is less than 1 hour due to the good transport connections.</p>

    The newly furnished, well-insulated attic flat is close to the village centre and easily accessible by car. Our farmhouse was built (ANNO - 1821 - C - Mannstein) in the typical Trier country house style.In front of the separate (former barn door) house entrance there is sufficient parking space. To the side of our house is a beautiful meadow with trees and gardens. With a direct connection to the Maare-Mosel cycle path and the Lieser valley, our place is an ideal starting point for fantastic cycling and hiking tours. Excursion destinations in our vicinity are the Manderscheider castles, the Himmerod Abbey as well as the Eifel maars and the Moselle valley.
