Welcome to the Alte Burg! Pure village life: Our castle (built in 1509) is located in the middle of the picturesque Schönecker Schweiz in the old and quiet village center of Hersdorf.Our comfortably furnished vacation apartment in the former barn is the ideal starting point for hikes and explorations of the Eifel - from the volcanic Eifel with the maars to the High Fens and Luxembourg. Guests with children are just as welcome as guests with pets. Just come and relax and unwind. We look forward to seeing you! The accommodation The vacation apartment is built into a former barn. It has a large living room with adjoining kitchen area, a fireplace, a dining area and a living area with sofa (can be converted into a sofa bed). A wooden staircase leads to the gallery with the sleeping area. From the entrance, however, you first enter the hallway with checkroom and the modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Access for guests In front of the vacation apartment is a loggia with seating and a partially covered barbecue area, which our guests are welcome to use by prior arrangement. Our village Hersdorf is a tiny village with about 400 inhabitants. Our castle is in a very quiet location. There are no shops in the village, no bakery and unfortunately no village pub. So bring something with you for breakfast the morning after your arrival. But there is fresh milk straight from the farmer. We will be happy to put a bottle of milk in the fridge for the first morning if you order in advance.As in many places in the Eifel, the mobile phone network is not ideal. So you won't have reception everywhere in the apartment.The nearest small supermarket, bakery, pubs, restaurants etc. can be found in Schönecken, about 4 km away.More restaurants, museums and a good ice cream parlor can be found in Prüm, about 8 km as the crow flies from Hersdorf.

Our cosy holiday home with terrace and view into the green garden is located in the quiet village of Brieden.The holiday home has a total of 3 bedrooms (4 persons), one bedroom with a walk-through bedroom and a separatebedroom with washing facilities.Minimum stay: 3 days

Our flat house Schmuckkörbchen in Altrich has two flats and offers you an extraordinary garden pleasure with old trees on around 2000 square metres. The ground-floor holiday flat Gartenglück has a double bedroom and a bright living room with an open-plan kitchen, both with access to the garden. The spacious bathroom has a walk-in shower. The open, fully equipped kitchen invites you to cook and enjoy meals together. There is a modern sofa bed in the living room, which can be folded out and used as a bed if required. The Kaminstübchen has a combined bedroom and living room with an open-plan kitchen and a bathroom with shower and WC. If you wish, you can also access our large garden from the Kaminstübchen. The house has its own car park for your car. Bicycles can be safely parked in our garage and e-bike batteries can be charged here free of charge. Our Schmuckkörbchen is a non-smoking house, but you are welcome to smoke on the covered terrace of the Gartenglück holiday flat and in the covered carport in front of the Kaminstübchen.

Two beautiful vacation apartments are available in a former guest house.Both vacation apartments offer space for 2 people and can be extended by additional bookable double rooms, outside the apartment on the same floor. The apartments are located on the 1st and 2nd floor and have their own entrance. Each apartment has a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom/shower.At the side of the house there is a covered terrace with garden. Here you can use the barbecue and enjoy a drink. There are plenty of parking spaces available.The village is about 10 km from Bitburg, 35 km from Echternach and 40 km from Trier.Biersdorf am See is located in a beautiful area where you can go for a walk. Canoes can be rented at the lake.The Eifel is a beautiful touring area for motorcyclists. ( Garage for motorcycles available )The southern Eifel offers many possibilities for a great vacation.
