Description

A moderately challenging ride around Bad Bertrich, Lutzerath, and Kennfus with plenty of singletrack—it’ll leave you exhausted by evening, but happy as you look back on the day!

The tour starts in Bad Bertrich. Zooming past this little village on your bike offers a welcome contrast to the idyllic spa town. Now a serious climb awaits you: it’s a climb of more than 200 meters in elevation up to Falkenlay and on to Kennfus. At the Maisch spring, you can take a short break and enjoy cold drinks from the “natural fridge” before heading to Lutzerath. Passing Hamme’s wayside shrine, the trail first leads you to the Achterhöhe viewing platform, where you should definitely make your first stop. The view over the Siebenbach Valley from this small skywalk, which juts out over a rocky ledge, is truly one-of-a-kind! Following the Üssbach stream through the forest along narrow, exciting trails, you’ll descend back to Bad Bertrich, which lies in a dreamy, secluded spot in the Römerkessel.
