Before you set off...

It happens from time to time that sections of the trail have to be temporarily diverted or closed. Just take a look at www.gesundland-vulkaneifel.de/info/wege-info/.

The circular trail starts in the center of Samersbach and leads towards the end of the village along the Weiherheide. It continues uphill along a wide forest path to a hunting lodge. The open landscape at the edge of the forest offers the first beautiful "Struth" panoramic views. The route continues partly along small forest paths alongside the wind turbines of the municipality of Beinhausen via a panoramic meadow path above the village. A short climb leads to a rest area with a fantastic view of the Hilgerath parish church. The route continues along a meadow path around Kradenbach and later along a high path above Nerdlen back to Samersbach.

Insider tip: Fill up on some delicious spring water from the Schulldrees in Neichen and take a break on the XXL panoramic bench in Sarmersbach, built in 2020 - the largest bench in Rhineland-Palatinate.
